The same spirit of partnership that has underpinned our community involvement since 1847 has been key to our ability to make a difference when it comes to responsible use. Over the years, our responsible use programs have been made possible by the assistance of a long list of organizations and individuals, including:

Responsible Use Programs
Over the years, our programming to promote responsible use on campus has taken many forms on both a national and local level. A couple of examples are our sponsorships of drive home safe programs and assistance in developing campus brochures that educate students on how to have a safe party.
Server Education
Labatt not only encourages people to enjoy alcohol responsibly. We take an active role in educating those who provide our brands to consumers to serve them responsibly too. For example, Labatt was the first supplier in Alberta to successfully complete the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission's Alberta Server Intervention Program. Today, we increase responsible use awareness by training alcohol licensees in our own institute facilities to take action against over-consumption and drinking and driving. We are proud to work with community partners like the Calgary Stampede and The Resorts of the Canadian Rockies to ensure our brands are served and enjoyed responsibly.
To the same end, we have a responsible beverage service program in Nova Scotia called, "It's Good Business." Through this program, we partner with local bars and restaurants and the Tourism Association of Nova Scotia to educate event coordinators and employees on ensuring guest safety, serving responsibly, and developing contingency plans.
Free Ride Programs
In Atlantic Canada, Labatt's Drive Home Safe Programs can literally be the life of the party. These programs help people get home safely and get home free, particularly during the holiday season when the risk of drinking and driving is greatest.
We're equally proud of the annual Labatt Opération Nez Rouge in Quebec, where Labatt volunteers drive others who do not feel comfortable driving their own vehicles home. Also during the holiday season in Quebec, every Labatt delivery truck is emblazoned with a responsible use message.
In Ontario, Labatt has partnered with local transit commissions to support New Year's Eve Free Ride campaigns that provide passengers with free transit service all evening.
Water and Backcountry Safety
Labatt's fight against drinking and driving extends to Canada's waterways too. In the Atlantic region, we have partnered with the Canadian Red Cross, Red Cross Swim and On Board to produce print materials, articles and education programs to help boaters and swimmers remain safe and consumer alcohol responsibly in and around the water.
Our Columbia Brewery in British Columbia is a major partner of the Canadian Avalanche Association, which educates outdoor enthusiasts on avalanche preparedness, safety and resources to avoid accidents while pursuing recreational activities in the backcountry. Columbia Brewery is also a sponsor of the Columbia Brewery Backcountry Avalanche Workshops, where international speakers present a variety of topics related to managing risk in the backcountry.
