Responsible Drinking

At Labatt, we always want our products to be consumed responsibly. That’s why we’ve been an industry leader in moderation since 1982, when we introduced “Please Don’t Drink and Drive”, the first responsible drinking media campaign from a North American brewer. Since then, we’ve created some of Canada’s most memorable and impactful responsible drinking campaigns under the “Know When to Draw the Line” banner. In 1986, we introduced Labatt .5, our first new low-alcohol beer since the Prohibition era.

Over the years, our commitment to moderation has expanded to include a wide range of resources, awareness campaigns, and support programs. These include Budweiser Good Sport, which encourages sports fans to volunteer as designated drivers, and Labatt Family Talk About Drinking, which provides parents with the guidance

they need to talk to their children about underage drinking and making smart, safe decisions about alcohol.

Each year, we celebrate Global Be(er) Responsible Day, an annual initiative where Labatt employees join together with retailers, community partners, and our AB InBev colleagues around the world to promote moderation, raise awareness about the importance of making smart drinking choices, and reduce the harmful use of alcohol. In 2018, we launched a series of community-based, nationwide road safety forums under the theme Road Safety: A Community Conversation, as part of our commitment to reducing the harmful consumption of alcohol, which included both drunk and impaired driving.
